Our Story

Studio Ruut is a designer’s travel journal told through objects.

Founded by designer Shahinda El Masry, Studio Ruut grew from a fascination with how design can capture the spirit of a place. In a world of mass-produced objects detached from meaning, we create pieces that feel rooted.

Every collection begins with a journey—a material discovered, a craft encountered, a texture observed, or a fleeting moment that sparks curiosity. From there, we explore the identity of a city: its history, people, traditions, landscapes, and the details that define its character.

At Studio Ruut, each collection becomes a tribute to place. Through furniture and objects, we translate stories into tangible forms, creating pieces that connect people to places, memories, and cultures.

Our work is an invitation to travel differently: to experience cities not through landmarks, but through materials, textures, rituals, and objects. Each piece is conceived as more than an object—it is an experience, a conversation, and a lasting connection between people and the spaces they inhabit.
